Are you catching this great PBS series?

Running from March 25 through May 27, our local KSPS (public TV) station is showing a series titled Finding Your Roots, hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr.  If I might be so bold, I find it more interesting that WDYTYA (Who Do You Think You Are?) because he draws comparisons and explains the research process better. In a recent episode, he profiled Barbara Walters and Geoffrey Canada and both learned the origins of their surnames. Gates usually uses two cases and draws out a parallel story and that's the entertaining part. I do recommend it....... Sunday evenings...... check it out!

Tika really doesn't care for TV one way or another....... unless there are critters to bark at. And none here!

  1. Hi Donna, I share your feelings. There seems to be a lot more depth to Finding Your Roots. Not so much in the genealogy process but in the people and the meaning of finding their roots. Yesterday's episode was incredible. WDYTYA gets a little more into the genealogy process but it seems so superficial. Sometimes it seems as if the program content is an advertisement for Ancestry, which of course it is, in a way, since they are obviously sponsoring it.
